My journey spans over three decades, beginning with a single Apple II GS computer in a high school science classroom, and evolving to a current state of extracting actionable data with BI tools. Over the past decade, I've leveraged Excel, Python, PowerBI, PowerQuery, and MS Fabric to champion data analytics.My team and I have are currently deep in the world of MS Fabric & Databricks, creating robust and secure data models, data flows, and collaborative workspaces to enhance data accessibility to staff within the North Dakota University System.Guiding a talented team, there is now a LLM tailored to NDUS functions. There is also a AI user policy within our core technology services department, and system wide AI user policy in collaborative development.My role extends into the NDUS Chancellor's Office, where I use BI tools to create annual reports for the State Board of Education, and work with state legislators and governor's office to provide reliable and accurate data for decision making. I also serve on the state interagency committee that governs the state longitudinal data system (SLDS).
