Business Development Lead In The Office Of Strategic Analysis, Communications, & Business Developmt
Hampton, Va
I was the Office of Strategic Analysis, Communications, & Business Development (OSACB) lead for the Technical Portfolio (Tech Portfolio) meetings held monthly for the NASA Langley Research Center’s senior leadership to ensure all were aware of the new “Create” business activities and opportunities in the areas of science, space technology, and aeronautics. As the Tech Portfolio lead I was responsible for working with the Directors and Deputies for Science, Space Technology and Exploration, and Aeronautics Research to coordinate and prepare the content for the monthly meetings and then facilitate the meetings while they were underway.- Business and Partnership Development: I led the efforts to connect Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) with the Engineering Directorate, especially the Engineering Design Studio, through tours and meetings as the NNS Chief Engineer was interested in learning about NASA Langley’s collaboration spaces. As part of the Agency’s Partnerships Roundtable, a group of partnerships and new business professionals from each of the Centers, the OSACB Deputy Director and I represented NASA Langley at the Marshall Collaboration Forum.I was the Center’s point of contact to all external businesses or individuals looking to do business with the Center via the Center’s externally-facing business website. I ensured that every inquiry that came in via the website was either connected to the best person at the center for the specific area or was directly answered with the information being looked for. I collaborated with personnel from across the Center to develop templates for commonly asked questions to enable quicker and more uniform responses. I developed a mechanism to log all inquiries and responses to enable better organizational metrics going forward.
