I am currently an Internal Research Fellow at ESA working in the field of adaptive optics for feeder link technologies where I continue to work on the ESA/ESO CaNaPy project. Previously I was an Optical Engineer/Physicist at ESO Garching working on the CaNaPy project in the area of adaptive optics real time control. I also worked a postdoc position at Gemini Observatory to design and build a next-generation CPU based RTC for the Gemini AO systems. Before Gemini I completed a PhD in astronomical Instrumentation at the Centre of Advanced Instrumentation at Durham University where I also attained a Masters in Physics (1st class MPHYS honours). My PhD thesis was an investigation into CPU based real-time control for the next generation of Extremely Large Telescopes.
