I am always eager to help someone tell a story. During my years as a producer in a television newsroom, that has involved being in tune to things happening in my local community and in the world around me, always searching for a way to bring a story home and put a face on it. During my very brief time in public relations, I was fortunate enough to get to help businesses tell their stories through a combination of modern tools like blogging, website SEO, and social media, as well as traditional forms of public relations including press releases and media outreach. Today I use this knowledge by still making myself available to small businesses looking for help writing web content and news releases.I've also been fortunate to be able to submit stories to several publications - telling tales of everything from doctors taking medical mission trips to African countries to college students following bands on tour - and their dreams in the process. Perhaps my most important role to date is my current position as a series coordinating producer at Jupiter Entertainment. In my nearly six years with the company, I have had the privilege to take on the challenging task of helping to tell compelling true-crime stories, which often have many crazy twists and turns and are nearly always heartbreaking. Though the job can be difficult, helping families who've lost children, siblings, or friends in terrible ways to find some peace and closure in sharing their loved ones' stories, brings a level of pride and satisfaction that I believe I would be hard pressed to find in almost any other career. It's a job in which I have found a lot of fulfillment and which I feel very fortunate to be able to participate in, and I look forward to how this experience will shape my future storytelling as well.
