With our incredible team, I'm building out a comprehensive leadership training infrastructure designed around our founder's brilliant approach to public will building: Strategic CaseMaking.

I designed and provided organizational change and leadership training and coaching to communities, foundations, and nonprofits across the country on effective public and political will building around equitable systems change. We're a start-up, so I did a whole bunch of other stuff, too.

Directed all aspects of the federal agency’s communications, including strategic planning, brand management, content strategy, social media engagement, and media relations. Coordinated among the White House, HUD, HHS, VA, and others, on strategic communications related to ending homelessness. I was the agency’s editorial writer and speechwriter, providing op-eds, speeches, talking points, and briefing materials for the Executive Director, Cabinet Secretaries, and the Office of the First Lady, among others. I also directed the agency’s engagement with Congress on an interim basis throughout 2017 and 2019.

Senior advisor to JBS Executive Officers on business growth and communications strategy. Led corporate business development working group on expanding children and youth portfolio. Advised on external marketing for children and youth practice area. Managed and co-wrote four winning federal contract proposals related to children and youth worth $5 - $10 million each; contributed to dozens of others. Served on corporate rebranding and messaging committee. I was a Principal at JBS from 2009 to 2012.

Advised federal Family and Youth Services Bureau on how to strategically position itself as a national thought leader on family and youth issues, which led to a complete rebranding and comprehensive annual communications planning process. Led team that developed and executed communication plans around key policy and programmatic initiatives, including campaign to promote the Runaway and Homeless Youth Program, featuring Cyndi Lauper. Wrote speeches and presentations for FYSB, ACYF, and ACF principals. Rebranded and repositioned FYSB’s federal resource center into a dynamic online resource that developed more than 250 pieces of original content each year, resulting in two major website awards. Led team’s move into audio, video, multimedia, and social media products, which won more than 25 awards. Oversaw two major website design projects. Directed 7 full-time staff, oversaw work products of more than a dozen others, and managed a budget of $1.5 million a year. Managed consultants and subcontractors. Between 2004 and 2009, I served as Senior Writer/Editor, Publications Manager, Project Manager, and Deputy Director.

Developed and implemented content strategy for federal newsletters on health issues, like HIV-AIDS, that disproportionately affect people of color. Wrote and edited two bimonthly publications and a variety of special reports.

Reported and wrote breaking news and feature articles for the International Business page, as well as freelance assignments for Sunday Money & Business and the Technology and International desks. Developed feature articles for International, Business, Environment, and Travel desks of global Web site affiliated with Microsoft and NBC. Planned and executed reporting trips around Latin America.

Developed 2-3 feature articles a month, including three cover stories, on the finance and banking sectors for a monthly magazine with a corporate audience.

Developed and implemented content strategy for six daily, weekly, and monthly Latin America newsletters. Developed new publications and services for a clientele of 200 Fortune 500 companies.
