I am responsible for managing the Student Services Department which includes student finance, academic advising, registrar services, campus life and career services. I manage a portfolio of students by providing them with academic and financial advising. I am also responsible for selecting, training, supervising and evaluating professional and student staff. I develop and implement systems to measure the quality of student services to students, as well as their satisfaction levels.

As a Student Service Advisor, I provided academic and financial aid advisement to new and continuing students throughout their academic program until graduation. I would proactively ensure that students' financial accounts were accurate and complete. Working with my team, we identified areas of improvement for the department and worked to close the gaps. I served as the advisor for Student Government Association, providing them with support and resources to be a successful student organization.

Leading, troubleshooting and problem solving were key characteristics of my position as Senior Client Service Associate. I was in charge of training and developing team members on the accounts payable team. I created training documentation and trained all accounts payable team members on a new software system that was implemented. I served as the focal point for escalations and worked with suppliers to resolve these issues. I played a key role in several divestitures, helping to reconcile and resolve outstanding invoices before the sell of the business.

With my passion for creative design, I started an event decorating company with my longtime friend and business partner. We worked with clients in developing the event of their dreams. From wedding flowers to floral centerpieces, chair covers to table linens, backdrops to ceiling draping, invitations to bridal party gifts, we were a one stop shop. We prided ourselves on providing quality service and exceptional designs at an affordable rate. We worked with clients throughout Michigan, predominantly in the Great Lakes Bay region. We became an exclusive vendor for one of the local banquet facilities and produced over 15 events per month.

As the Assistant Director of Minority Student Services I provided academic advising to students helping them to develop degree plans and conducting official degree audits. I also served as an advisor for several student organizations. I continued to design and develop programs to celebrate Black History and Hispanic Heritage months. One of my highlights as an Assistant Director was developing a mentor program for underrepresented students. This program paired senior and junior level students with incoming freshman. This program was an initiative to combat minority retention.

Being the Assistant Director of Student Life gave me the ability to work with student organizations and campus programs. I served as the Fraternity and Sorority Advisor providing these students with leadership and development training, risk management and recruitment support and financial assistance. I designed and developed programs to celebrate Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month and Women's Leadership Month. I also served as an advisor for a hip hop dance team, philanthropic student organization and a women's group. Outside of Student Life, I assisted with new student and transfer student orientation.
