• Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, led a team of 10 software engineers that corrected defects and completed minor enhancements in the Student Information System Software, setting team, individual goals.
• In 2020, my team had been reduced to 4 software engineers. We started the year with 153 total bugs in the backlog, our goal was to reduce this by 30%. We finished the year with only 40 remaining bugs in backlog
• Allotted office hours for internal staff to get help on complex topics such as APIs and integrations
• Lowered the average age of our backlog to less than 90 days
• Implemented performance improvements to our API which integrates Schoology into the eSchoolPlus product suite. This contributed to improved teacher experience and record sales during a time of unprecedented need for.
• Part of team that won 3rd place in the PowerSchool Hackathon out of 400 Registrations

• Employed multiple troubleshooting techniques to identify and correct the root cause of reported software problems in Student Information System software. This was used within the school districts by Administration.
• Responsible for 6 states for their State Reporting which included gathering requirements, working with the districts, writing specifications for any changes, ensuring changes were completed and released on time
• Key member of a team initiative to provide hypercare to clients that had been identified as unhappy and/or at-risk of leaving. In all instances, the backlog of open issues for these clients were reduced and customer.
• Worked closely with Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure changes functioned as designed and passed regression testing to ensure other features were not unintentionally impacted
• Received Leadership Excellence Award from the company CEO
• Earned the Exceptional Customer Service Award (monthly award based on responses to customer surveys on closed tickets)

• Managed reporting changes for state-driven product development, modifications and enhancements in Informix-4GL and SQL. This included frequent contact with customers, state DOE’s, requirements gathering, analysis.
• Team member for the California Department of Education initiative to apply for a $1.0M grant to help implement our new system that enabled us to send required data to their system, CSIS (California State Information.
• Performed all analysis for us to implement MI’s SRSD (Student Record System Database) system in our SIS. Wrote all specifications, tested, and documented all required pieces.
