About Jennifer Maccormack
I study bodily impacts on social affective experience & functioning: e.g., how can more basic homeostatic states like hunger, fatigue, and inflammation - and also our awareness and valuing of bodily information - shift our emotions and affect-based decisions (e.g., in the social, financial, & health domains). To study this, I use self-report, experience sampling, behavioral tasks, peripheral psychophysiology (electrocardiogram, impedance cardiography, blood pressure), some endocrinology (analyzing the typical "stress" hormones, e.g., cortisol, testosterone, etc., but also hunger hormones like ghrelin & leptin; pro-inflammatory cytokines), and functional neuroimaging.
