Find something you're passionate about and attach a paycheque to it. That's the advice my high school career counsellor gave. Not surprisingly it's difficult to make a living going to Tragically Hip concerts and eating french fries, so I branched out. My career took some twists and turns and I found my calling as a Buyer in food manufacturing. Not quite eating fries for a living, but it's close. These days my enthusiasm is directed at plant-based foods and being part of the dynamic supply chain team that brings these options into people's homes. Detail-oriented, highly organized and a natural problem-solver, I've leveraged these traits to manage procurement duties in high volume, fast-paced manufacturing businesses. Most recently I've embarked on a new path with Daiya Foods and I'm excited to contribute to the passion and innovation of this growing company. When I'm not buying plant-based ingredients you can find me running or writing, or running and writing about it, or writing to avoid running. At best I'm a novice runner, doing laps in my neighbourhood for the fun of it. I'm also an accomplished ghostwriter who can crank out an obscene amount of words on a wide variety of topics.
