I've had a fascination with science since I was a little kid, and after I was given the opportunity to study at the University of Utah, I chose to pursue chemistry. I have never been one to memorize material, but rather understand fundamentally why something is occurring. Throughout my undergrad, I developed the ability to work my way through problems and apply them using lab and analytical techniques. If the data I obtained happened to show an anomaly, I have always been able to work through it and find solutions. In addition to the opportunity I was given to study chemistry, I had the ability to mentor first year students in order to help develop their professional skills within the field of chemistry, allowing me to develop communication skills and a drive to help others succeed too.These days it can be rare to find a field you love, and I consider myself very lucky to have found a field of study that both fascinates me, and pushes me to work harder to achieve goals I am constantly setting for myself in order to be better.
