At Centron PR, developed and maintained relationships within the healthcare industry. Created press releases and pitches, which led to media opportunities and resulted in placements among top-tier media. Additionally, coordinated and oversaw interviews for media opportunities between top-tier editors and client spokespeople which included drafting talking points prior to interviews. Took on the leadership role for an annual event for our client by coordinating all aspects to make the event a success. Led the coordination for structuring all details of our client’s website launch. Created monthly activity reports and conducted day-to-day communication with clients.

At 5W, managed as many as seven accounts concurrently. Industry coverage included fashion, beauty, home décor & home goods, travel & hospitality, sporting facilities, snack foods, technology equipment, among others. Maintained and grew relationships with top-tier editors, constantly providing them with updated information on client products, which resulted in media placements in top-tier publications. Drafted and disseminated several press releases announcing new and relevant updates about topics such as new products and new executive hires as well as drafted and disseminated several pitches for each client on a daily basis. Furthermore, coordinated segment opportunities as well as coordinated several sponsorship opportunities, campaigns and PR stunts appropriate for clients.

Here, I worked as part of a team to generate awareness of the organization in the media in the Central New York area where the organization is based. We produced a SWOT analysis that helps the organization recognize its Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. We also wrote several press releases to media sources regarding upcoming events and feature articles. We worked together to come up with special events that the organization can provide in order to generate awareness in the media as well. In order to determine level of awareness of Operation Homefront in the media and the media’s interest in war related stories, we provided the organization with pre and post-event surveys to disperse to media outlets.

Here, I was given the opportunity to use my Public Relations skills to benefit this non-profit organization. I created Press Releases, spoke with managers and PR coordinators to help gain support for the CCFA and was able to identify ways to use social networking to benefit the organization. Not only was I able to help CCFA, but I realized how much I enjoy the hands-on experience.
