Surviving medical trauma during my journey to motherhood, navigating life with hearing loss, and overcoming countless barriers has taught me one powerful lesson: resilience sparks change. These experiences didn’t just shape my journey—they fueled my passion for advocating for those who are too often overlooked or ignored. As a nonprofit development leader, public health professional, and passionate board member, I am committed to breaking down walls and empowering inclusive access for children and adults of all abilities. My core areas of focus are maternal and child health and creating equitable opportunities for the autism community, Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, and people living with rare diseases. Over the past decade, I’ve raised over $4.5 million in new funding, developed community-based safety initiatives, and worked alongside researchers, healthcare providers, and policymakers to drive meaningful change. In 2018, my daughter was diagnosed with SETD2-related Neurodevelopmental Disorder, an extremely rare genetic condition, with fewer than 10 cases reported worldwide at the time. Faced with a lack of resources, I decided to take action and founded the SETD2-related Neurodevelopmental Disorder Advocacy group. What started as a personal search for support led to the creation of a global community. To date, we’ve connected over 350 families across 40+ countries and contributed to 6 published research studies. Throughout this journey, my focus has always been on empowering others through volunteerism—giving families the tools, knowledge, and support they need to live their lives to their full potential. My leadership philosophy is centered on empowering people’s strengths, fostering collaboration, and cultivating a culture of volunteerism and service. I believe that by lifting others and nurturing their abilities, we can create lasting, positive change in every community. If you share my vision for a more inclusive and accessible world, let’s connect. Together, we can continue to break down barriers and empower those who need it most.
