My internship project was to independently conduct statistical analyses to evaluate success of CDC's WISEWOMAN program in Wisconsin. I collaborated with program evaluators to select specific analysis aims and created a statistical analysis plan for reproducibility. In preparation for the statistical analysis, I extracted and cleaned longitudinal data for a multi-prong analysis using SQL and SPSS. I then developed a report of the results and data collection recommendations for state-level program coordinators and evaluators.

I paused my professional career to pursue further education in the field of Public Health. I worked at a bakery during this time to supplement my income while in graduate school.

As a Clinical Research Coordinator on FightCOVIDMKE, I assisted in developing protocols and establishing clinic relations to roll out the study. I acted as a primary recruiter and data coordinator for the public health study. I also gained phlebotomy skills and have drawn several hundred participants. When not working with participants, I focused on data maintenance and management. My main project was designing the data dashboard to monitor the demographics of our recruitment and the potential gaps with our target population. Software systems I have learned include Forte, PowerBI, Postman, OnCore, and Google Data Suites.

I worked in the Center for Neurotrauma Research (CNTR). In this position, I was responsible for participant recruitment and enrollment for several projects. I learned several data analysis programs including AFNI 3D T-Test++, AFNI 3D MVM, SPSS, and SAS while working in the CNTR. Outside of recruitment and statistical analysis, I gained skills in editing and analyzing raw health data for Heart Rate Variability, Cardiac Impedance, and MRI Neural Activation utilizing a variety of software.

I shifted gears within Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin to focus on political campaigns and became a Fellow with the Get Out the Vote campaign for 2020. We canvassed on several college campuses until we transferred to Digital Organizing due to COVID-19. Through digital organizing, I hosted phone and text banks, as well as organized several online community events and days of action surrounding voting and anti-voter suppression.

During my time at Ryan Brothers Ambulance Services, I completed over 1500 patient care hours. I maintained my EMS education monthly through continuing education units to ensure top care for my patients. Through both interfacility and emergency response transports, I determined appropriate treatment and transport measures for ideal patient outcomes. I followed state and company protocols for treatment and documentation of care.

I worked with Public Affairs and Community Education to organize and advertise enthralling eventsIn my time at Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin, I worked with the Public Affairs team to connect with the Madison community on topics relating to reproductive justice. We worked on projects relating to obtaining comprehensive, accessible, and affordable healthcare. By organizing events, I learned about public policy, team collaboration, and large-event coordination. I coordinated campaign logistics.

PI: Thomas SutulaMy focus in lab is kindling the sprague-dawley rats and evaluating their afterdischarges. I also work with monitoring and reading EEG's. The focus of this lab is to evaluate if 2DG can decrease long-term damage such as Post-Traumatic Epilepsy after a patient receives a traumatic brain injury.I also record, read, and analyze EEG's of the rats post seizure-susceptibility testing.

Principle Investigator - Jenny Higgins, Ph.D.This study analyzed unintended pregnancies and contraceptive usage in the LGBTQ community. As an undergraduate researcher, I thematically coded interviews and analyzing trends from the interviews.

Principle Investigator: Lisa Flook, Ph.D.Research Focus: Contemplative/affective neuroscience, studying how mindfulness-based stress reduction will affect the human brain.I was involved in assisting with pre- and post- mindfulness curriculum testing on 5th grade students, teacher interview coding, classroom observations, and analyzing and collecting data with the Department of Education (DOE) Kind Schools Laboratory. I was also involved in pre- and post- mindfulness and meditation intervention testing for low-income parents involved with Head-Start Parenting to lower stress levels and pre-service teachers to prevent burnout. We utilized this data to guide the development of the Healthy Minds application, a free meditation and mindfulness program that tailors to the users goals.

Worked to provide the best customer service possible by promoting "clean" drinks that contained no artificial sweeteners, completing orders efficiently, and training new employees to make drinks to standard.

Crafted and adjusted the health care budget for UW- Madison. Increased the presence of the Mental Health Workers. Promoted health care opportunities such as mental health sessions, vaccines, and women's clinics.
