Measurable success with this role:-Accepted a leadership role in 2013 as a Principal’s Cabinet Member focusing on school improvement.- Achieved the district goal of 80% of my accelerated math students becoming proficient in multiplication and division computation facts.- 85% increase in student literacy rates during the 2014-2015 year. -Performed to the top two categories of “distinguished” and "proficient" on the Washington State Teaching Evaluation System three years in a row.Other related duties:-Trained and coached students to independently monitor their goals using Marzano’s Tracking System.-Trained as a Mentor Teacher coaching incoming teachers to the school.-Performed to the guidelines and structure of Danielson’s Framework as part of Washington State’s teacher evaluation system.-Experience implementing a vast amount of curriculum and administering assessments to track progress and understanding.-Implemented a structured management/behavioral system focusing on positive reinforcement.-Provided social/emotional guidance and training to students using the curriculum Second Step.-Trained and organized parent volunteers to help administer the program Read Naturally to monitor student reading fluency.

For almost three years, I had the opportunity to be a Special Education Para-educator in an Autism Spectrum classroom and in a Resource Room classroom while attending graduate school. As a para, my role focused around helping diverse learns reach their potential academic and social goals. I also helped special education students adapt to a general education classroom setting. During the middle of this position, I started my student teaching in a third grade classroom. Other duties:-Planned and instructed engaging academic and social lesson plans for students with special needs.-Provided one-on-one and small group support for diverse learners.-Observed and tracked student behavior and academic progress.-Assisted special education case managers with IEP goals.-Attended IEP meetings and parent-teacher conferences.-Used Applied Behavioral Therapy.
