About Jenna Sofia

Documenting people, stories, and the world via audio/photo/video since I was a kid, I create and collaborate as an actress, writer, and photographer in fiction and non-fiction (film, theatre, etc). It's my joy to collect folk stories and songs from around the world, and cook up new ones. I'm also a certified yoga teacher (2007 with Dharma Mittra). Mamma, dancer, singer-songwriter, maker of chocolate!I wrote, performed in, and produced the forthcoming Rhythm of Six, filmed while I was 8-months-pregnant. My debut short film, Break the Camera (Winner, Best Experimental Short, Amazing Shorts! Film Festival, Madrid), played festivals worldwide, including Mill Valley Film Festival (world premiere) and the Oscar-qualifying Athens International Film & Video Festival. I've played stages from London’s Southwark Playhouse (Summer and Smoke, dir. Rebecca Frecknall) to NYC’s LaMaMa ETC (Girl/Group). Writing clients include Gucci. The founder of Second Seed Productions and co-founder of Lovebranch Films, I've also produced and photographed for Veuve Clicquot, Fresh Beauty, Female Founder Collective, and Starry Eyed Productions. I studied at LAMDA & the New School for Public Engagement.
