As a Masters students at the University of Toronto in the Social Justice Education program, I am an advocate for equity, feminism, anti-racism and much more. My passion for learning and advocating comes from the many courses I have taken in my educational career. These courses have taught me valuable skills and frameworks, which have shaped me into who I am as a student and activist today. A main interest of mine is understanding and learning new frameworks that aim to educate, analyze and transform the concepts of gender, feminism, race and more. My education thus far has led me to expand my knowledge in a wide range of sociological ideologies as well as criminological concepts. Specifically, many of these courses have sparked my excitement for researching, learning, and writing about the topics I am excited and knowledgeable about.The study of sociology and being a student in this program has allowed me the opportunity to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals and to effectively create a safe space for all and learn about one another. My studies and passion have pushed me to grow and learn new things, be open to new concepts, learn how to listen to others and work with diverse groups of individuals.
