I am a passionate Speech Pathologist supporting children and young people to communicate and participate fully in their daily lives, fostering their confidence and ensuring they have the tools to express themselves and effectively connect with others.My experience and areas of interest include autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, situational mutism, behaviour support, and trauma. My practice is grounded in a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approach, focusing on enhancing communication skills, ensuring inclusive education aligns with the Australian Curriculum, and addressing the unique needs of students. I use innovative strategies including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to support individuals with complex communication needs. I collaborate with transdisciplinary teams, parents, carers and educators to develop personalized, meaningful supports. My career highlights include: - Guest Lecturing at the University of Technology Sydney on Visual Supports for Autistic Students - Recent Publication: A Critical Review of Literature on Social Media and Developmental Communication Disability: Implications for Future Social Media and Generative AI Research (2024)- Presenting my AISNSW Middle Leaders Project titled Communication Station at the 2023 Speech Pathology Australia Conference - Presenting my thesis titled Information Accessibility of the NDIS Website Sources Aimed at Current and Future Participants: Readability and Usability Heuristic Evaluation at the 2020 UTS Speech Pathology Research Symposium and the 2022 National AGOSCI Conference I am committed to advocacy, inclusion, and community engagement.
