This opportunity aided in developing new skills related to the therapeutic process. Within this time I was able to complete over 750 hours of clinical experience including over 500 hours of direct contact with individuals, couples, families and groups. I strengthened micro-skills, theory identification and implementation of interventions on the basis of the client request. As a new therapist this opportunity was irreplaceable to the beginning development of a novice therapist.

This role offered a drastic change in responsibilities and expectations and I could not be more excited about fully immersing into this opportunity. The start of the academic year was a time of heavy involvement into filling three consultant positions and beginning the training process of new staff while maintaining the main priorities of each role. My newest role has been a combination of dual responsibilities and hopefully by summer I will be comfortable in these new responsibilities.Within this role there is a significant amount of data management and analysis as well as research which will be a new challenge and something I have not heavily engaged with since my undergraduate career. Within my past consultant role I worked with assessment in regards to specific programs, however now is a wonderful opportunity to work with assessing the office as a whole and the student employment programming on IUPUI's campus. Another significant piece of this role is marketing which includes web development. Marketing is a newer field that I am very excited to explore and gain high levels of experience.

This position also entails assisting students in creating, reviewing, and utilizing resources to aid in their employment searches as well as assisting them in learning how to relate their experiences to the opportunities they desire to obtain. Lastly, assists students in searching for academically relevant part-time positions within Indianapolis to increase their skill enhancement and development.Within the past year personal adaptability has been a positive strength which has been utilized to increase responsibilities. These additional responsibilities included supervising 12 peer assistants, hosting the annual Part-Time Job Fair which included over 85 employers and served over 500 students, Editing the National Student Employment Association Journal, and coordinating the work-study program.

Collaborated with Human Resources, Payroll, the Community Work-Study Program Coordinator and Financial Services on a daily basis. Began the development process for the new online work-study database. Acted as an advocate for students with employment conflicts to ensure situations were solved professionally and by IUPUI student employment standards.

Participated in weekly supervision and administrative responsibilities. Gained extensive experience in TherapyNotes and managing the intake process. I wanted to gain as much knowledge from this experience as possible in order to further strengthen my decision to further independent therapy work in the future.
