Provide socialization and medical care for past foster dogs and client’s dogs both in their own residence and my own. Assist in training dogs’ basic obedience and proper behavior while walking. Exercise dogs through training and walking.

I worked alongside Dr. Huzzey in her research on dairy cow behavior. Her research aims to examine the similarities and differences between Holstein and Jersey dairy cows. Along with that, Dr. Huzzey aims to determine if the dairy cows' behavior around the time of calving can predict their ketotic health status. During my research experience, I monitored prepartum and postpartum dairy cows' standing and lying behavior by using a HOBO data logger system. I collected and processed blood from postpartum dairy cows to measure ketone level. Additionally, I led and mentored the new team of research assistants. Along with that, I extracted cow fecal cortisol samples for enzyme immunoassay in a scientific lab.

As an animal care intern, I helped manage and care for a diverse group of animals in my assigned section. I worked with the California Trail String 12 which consisted of Bald Eagles, California Condors, Red-Tailed Hawk, Wolves, Jaguars, Mountain Lions, and Bison. As an intern, I helped clean and service the exhibits for every animal. I learned how to properly handle chemicals and thoroughly clean areas used by the animals, such as their feeding stations, pools, fences, etc. Some other activities that I did at the Oakland Zoo included preparing food in the commissary, learning about irrigation and plant care during horticulture shifts, using power tools to complete projects, and completing construction tasks on the property. While outside of the exhibit, I observed the animals and answered guests' questions and provided new insight on our animals. I took various classes on important zoological topics to help better educate me about the different practices that go with zookeeping. I worked on a final project where I constructed enrichment items for the condors and hawk. I also worked closely with my mentor and other keepers to analyze the behavior of the raptors and construct multiple high-level enrichment ideas to increase and maintain the welfare of the animals.

I fed, exercised, and cared for high-level performance dressage horses at a competition show barn. I was in charge of the various clients' horses along with the lesson horses.
