This position allowed me to gain more knowledge of the vendors and items within the shop that was used alongside my internship. It allowed me to connect with customers who were not only shopping in the store, but also following the Shops at 5807's social media accounts. I was graciously accepted as an intern with the Shops at 5807 early in 2016 when I was looking for opportunities to test my advertising skills in a real-world environment. Although I was not eligible to earn credit for my internship yet, my supervisors allowed me to be their intern from January to May. I continued to be their social media intern through the summer while earning credit towards my Mass Communications degree at VCU.
