I founded Collab Local as a women-owned California DBE to approach community engagement, facilitation, and strategic planning projects with creativity and thoughtfulness. I worked on great projects, providing public outreach, facilitation, community planning, and grant writing solutions that connect and transform communities. Collab Local was built on Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) and International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) principles, and we helped our clients with the facilitation of large infrastructure projects, State-funded grant writing, and served as transitional executive director for community-based organizations.

As part of the Mika CDC Board, I helped sunset the community-based organization that had completed its mission and turn the reigns over to residents and neighbors who are leaders in their community.

While at Michael Baker International, I led community engagement on planning projects throughout California, engaging with local municipalities and federal agencies. Key projects include the FIT Cities Initiative, Orange County, California; Community Plans Continuum Project for San Bernardino County; Earvin "Magic" Johnson Recreation Master Plan, County of Los Angeles; Malibu Bluffs Parkland Master Plan, Malibu, California; Rim of the World Active Transportation Plan; Village Entrance Project, Laguna Beach, California; General Plan Outreach, Scottsdale, Arizona; Valley Boulevard Corridor Specific Plan Health and Wellness Elements, San Bernardino County, California; and Community Engagement and Risk Communications, FEMA Region 8.

I led the direction, design, and facilitation of the Millennium Ten Initiative (M10) - a 10 year comprehensive community planning process that engaged over 1000 residents and stakeholders to articulate neighborhood priorities with clear strategies to address these priorities. Strategies range from environmental sustainability to community safety to economic development conducted through a collective impact model. Partnerships included the City of Boston, the Local Initiative Support Coalition (LISC), Codman Square Neighbhorhood Development Corporation, local health clinics and community-based organizations.

Working alongside an engineering team, I implemented public health education curriculum in Endana, Kenya. My work included developing an applicable model for building social capacity and participation in partnership with community-led technical innovations addressing environmental health risks and conducting in-depth community input and public health assessments for water and sanitation.

I assisted in community meetings and outreach workshops and provided written records, data collection, and research for a resident-driven, ten year strategic and placed-based project sponsored by the California Endowment to build healthier communities.

I coordinated El Centro de Esperanza, a community-developed and driven place for after-school learning, community leadership classes, and police and health forums, and volunteer management. El Centro was created through an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) model with neighborhood leaders.
