My job was to ensure that the Genotyping team had all of the tools, knowledge and support to complete animal genotyping efficiently and to the highest quality standards. I coordinated and motivated seven direct reports, providing daily communication regarding performance metrics, business volume and cross-training progress. I managed all the essential functions of Genotyping Lab including process improvement initiatives, customer data review requests, non-conformance evaluations, new protocol/assay validations and quality investigations.

Maintained highest industry standards by authoring SOPs, QA control forms, developing and training team members on quality processes for ISO and USDA accreditation.

From this, we developed a 3-year exit strategy, focusing on drug development value drivers and inflection points to increase shareholder value during future negotiations. Enhanced production processes to increase fermentation biomolecule yield and reduce production costs for products reaching the end of patent lifecycle

Generated and scaled production of biosynthetic isobutanol as a drop-in for petroleum-based applications with the goal of commercialization viable volumes of isobutanol to increase the success of the start-up.Volunteered for relocation to Gevo's isobutanol production facility in Luverne, MN. Gained valuable start-up experience, carrying R&D process to the production site, supporting 2014 production campaign.

In conjunction with the National Jewish Health Research Center, explored the mechanisms behind lung specific disease states, including COPD. Managed laboratory operations, experimental planning, scheduling, data collection and presentation of results to PI and colleagues.Conducted experiments on clinical samples from COPD, smoker and non-smoker patients to identify defects in the pathway damaged cell/tissue clearance. Utilized in vivo murine models and macrophage cell lines in experiments stimulating or blocking phagocytic pathways to identify receptor, kinase and target proteins involved.

Integral team member in process development for fungal fermentations producing pharmaceutical product biomolecules. Independently managed experimental plans, including timelines and execution, processing of samples, data analysis and presentation of results to managers and peers.
