About Jenna Ray
I’m a coach-style strategic leader with 20 years’ experience in nonprofit mission delivery, fundraising, strategic communications, and employee engagement. I’ve served large organizations and small. And I’ve raised tens of millions of dollars for causes close to my heart. Since joining the social sector, I’ve served community organizations addressing the childcare crisis, arts and culture, rural resilience, animal welfare, gender equity, Native sovereignty, civic engagement, environmental stewardship, and more. As a fundraiser and capacity builder, I’ve led development teams to record-breaking campaigns and giving day success. I’ve also launched and led fundraising-training programs designed to help small, volunteer-led organizations carry out successful place-based campaigns. A North Dakota native, I came to Minnesota to attend college in 2006 and have been here ever since. I hold a BA in theatre arts, English, and multicultural studies from the University of Minnesota Morris and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from The Fund Raising School, Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. I’m currently pursuing a MA in organizational leadership at St. Catherine University.I’m a matrilineal descendant of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana, with family ties to the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. My greatest hope is to be a good relative.An everyday philanthropist, I’m adjusting to a new life in a new city with my husband, son, and golden lab, Ziibi—after 16 years living, working, and giving on the western Minnesota prairie, I now call St. Paul home.
