During my time as a student researcher, I worked directly with d in the program while conducting research that was published as "Swipe to Success: Case Study of an Undergraduate Academic Program's Use of Social Media to Increase Program Visibility and Student Engagement." I applied for and received a grant through the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire to help conduct this research. I presented this research at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire's Celebration of Excellence in Research & Creative Activity (CERCA) where I connected with students, professors, and individuals who attended and were interesting about my research. I also had the opportunity to present this research at Convocation for American College of Health Care Administration (ACHCA) where I was able to talk with professionals in the health care administration field, professors from other universities, and others. I was honored to receive an award for being one of the Student Poster Award winners out of many other student researchers whose work was outstanding. This was a great opportunity to work with many amazing individuals and present to others about the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire's Health Care Administration program's social media use and how beneficial it has been!

I worked as both the Sophomore and Junior Intern for Center of Health Administration and Aging Excellence (CHAASE), the Health Care Administration program at UWEC, and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire College of Business. I worked directly with the department heads of the Health Care Administration program as well as connected with CHAASE Board members and act as a representative of their hard work and dedication. This opportunity gave me a great way to network with others, work with and understand a national organization, got prospective and current students involved, connected with experts in the health care administration field, and did research with professors. I managed the social media, media for Schneider Hall in the HCAD area, worked in the CHAASE Suite, and learned many new topics, as well as published newsletters for the HCAD program and spoke to board members on behalf of the program. I was able to communicate with professors, staff, and faculty of the UWEC College of Business, which has allowed for me to gain professional connections.

While working as a lifeguard, I need to watch deep water for patron's safety, sanitize the facility, and keep a safe environment for the public. In different situations, I need to perform in-water rescues, first aid, CPR, spinal in-water rescues, and know how to use the AED. Being a head lifeguard at the facility comes with other leadership oriented tasks; including managing employees, working more with the public, managing swimming lessons, and many other miscellaneous tasks. I also work as a WSI trained guard, which means I can teach personal water safety classes for all ages. I use my leadership skills in this position because I manage classes of usually two to twenty children, or sometimes even adult lessons. This opportunity has allowed me to work with the public, perform first-aid, perform life-saving medical treatment in high stress situations, and use my leadership skills to the best of my advantage.

I was given the opportunity to work as the manager at the largest prom store in Wisconsin. While having this amazing opportunity, I was allowed to manage employees, work with customers, sanitize the facility (became much more of a task due to COVID-19), manage the multiple social media accounts, help pick out inventory, and, overall, keep everyone in the store happy because prom is a once in a lifetime experience. I worked closely with the owner and even got to attend a bridal expo, which involve me going up to potential customers and telling them about our amazing store and why picking us would make their wedding much smoother. Overall, this experience was life-changing and allowed me to grow immensely as a leader, as well as get my mind into the business world.
