About Jennifer Capezza, M.P.A.
Jenn Capezza has a diverse background beginning in live theatre production and special events. Transitioning from this to receiving her Master of Public Administration from LIU Post to enter the Non-Profit field to focus on special events in the fundraising departments. While working towards her master's degree, she joined LIADV initially 15 years ago as a volunteer in the education department. Soon after, she was hired for a staff position with a dual focus as the community educator and development associate. After serving in this role for several years, unfortunately due to budget cuts, these positions were eliminated. For the following years she remained an active volunteer with LIADV, while working at other non-profit agencies coordinating anti-hunger efforts across Long Island, volunteering with a local veteran's organization as well as in her spiritual community. With the economic conditions at the time, there was a lack of full-time positions within the nonprofit sector. During this time, she founded and built All CAPZ Consulting. A social media marketing, management and training firm dedicated to empowering you to take control of your digital footprint, specializing in small businesses and nonprofit organizations. While she enjoyed this work, especially working alongside other small businesses and helping them to build their digital platform and grow their customer base, there was something lacking. She missed the excitement of building and launching special events and the fulfillment of working towards the greater good. In 2018 she rejoined the staff at LIADV as the Director of Development overseeing all fundraising and donor relations while also participating in the functions of the education department. Joining the team at LIADV brought her career full circle where she can apply all her experience, both on the ground and online, to achieve successful fundraising campaigns and large-scale live events. In January of 2022, she was promoted to Associate Director where she works directly alongside esteemed Executive Director, Wendy Linsalata, assisting in the general oversight of the agency as a whole and directly supervising Development, Education, Vocational and Shelter programs. In this role she is honored to provide support for the programing staff at LIADV who work tirelessly to provide support for thousands of trauma and violence survivors each year. In her not so spare time, you can find her volunteering for a local animal rescue, and spending time with her husband Joe and their two rescue pups - Hank & Nellie.
