The Associate Vice Provost/Assistant Vice President is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to expand the university's offerings in lifelong learning and professional development. This includes identifying new opportunities for growth and partnerships, as well as overseeing the development and delivery of programs and initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of adult learners. The goal of this dual reporting role is to ensure a unified, coordinated strategy that supports the Duke brand within the Duke community, the region, and beyond.As part of the Vice Provost’s leadership team, the AVP will lead units in assisting learners along the PreK-Gray continuum pursuing educational opportunities available at Duke University, in both credit and non-credit academic and professional development spaces. Provides professional, efficient, and creative public relations, marketing, and concierge services to clients across the country including non-profits, businesses, and individuals. Creates, promotes, and maintains relationships between organizations or individuals and the media, investors, donors, customers, and the general public using traditional and non-traditional outlets. Develops communication campaigns including coordinated collateral materials and advertisements.

Responsible for the planning and execution of all public relations campaigns for Seventh Point clients including PEOPLExpress Airlines, Troy University, Virginia Department of Transportation, Honor Flight (Hampton Roads), and King's Daughter Run/Walk for the Kids. Maintains ongoing public relations responsibilities including press release development and pitching, general media relations, and tracking campaign results.Project Management Highlights:Developed and executed the PEOPLExpress brand launch press conference on February 13, 2012 in Newport News, Virginia. Within one week of the launch, the campaign generated over $12 million in earned media in national outlets including USAToday, CBS News, and the Huffington Post. Additional coverage was seen in the coming weeks in Aviation Weekly, Travel Weekly and featured on Headline News.
