My goal is to fully equip every team member and scholar I come into contact with.Interim Principal May 2017-June 2018 - passionately leads a team of 34 adults to raise the achievement of 255 students in an urban, mission-oriented turnaround school.Academics-As of May 2018, 80% of classrooms made between 1.0- 1.5 years of math growth and 60% of students made between 1.0-1.5 years of reading growth; as reported by STAR Math/Reading.- Developed intentional and targeted data-based interventions, that helped close the opportunity gap for every K-5 student.- Acquired $12,000.00 St. Louis Foundation Innovation Grant that granted Carver’s struggling reading population to be instructed by UMSL’s Literacy cohort. (Carver teachers are also given high quality professional development on instructional strategies through this grant). Adult leadership/Staff Culture- Effectively created adult leadership opportunities within school to endorse buy-in and ownership of mission/vision/goals.- Acquired $6,000.00 grant through Parsons- Blewett to provide high quality professional development opportunities for instructional staff to Uncommon Schools seminars.- Provides targeted weekly coaching for K-2 teachers weekly implementing the strategies from the “Getting Better Faster Guide/Model.”- directly leads most challenging data cohort in building.- Co-developed quarterly and mid-year data analysis for teachers and scholars in relation to end of year goals. In my current role as Dean of School Culture, I have had the opportunity to be a key partner in establishing school norms, systems, and protocols so that our school operates in excellence. Moreover, I have worked with my current supervisor to develop academic leadership opportunities for teachers to hone their craft. I have also aided in fostering a positive learning environment where both teacher and scholar can thrive and be successful. Lastly, I have helped build and sustain community/family partnerships, so that the needs of the whole child are met.
