Jennet Chow is the Founder, Owner, and Co-CEO of Evolution Design Lab (EDL) and Jellypop Shoes. She is a second generation Taiwanese-American native to Southern California. As a child, Jennet spent her weekends at swap meets, starting at 5AM to set up and sell shoes as her family’s side business. Overtime her family eventually became a footwear enterprise selling shoes in every major department store in the US. Learning from her parents work ethic, she started working in high school at multiple jobs, including within the fashion industry to gain experience. Since her Father stopped working when she was 15 years old due to medical reasons, summers were spent working for her parents designing shoes. As soon as she was 18, she decided to further her studies while working. She earned an AA in Apparel Manufacturing Management at FIDM where she merged her passion for design, marketing, and business. Jennet later went on to recruit and hire employees at 18-years-old while she was in school, growing the design and marketing department from one person (herself) to ten by the time she was 21. During this time, Prima Royale Enterprises flourished. Mudd Footwear became one of the top brands in the Junior Market. Their company is one of the first to produce volume PU/Vegan shoes. The other notable brand, Kenzie, was a leather brand in the first tier department stores that became hugely successful.At 29 years old, in 2009, after many years of experience working and growing Prima Royale, Jennet went on to found Evolution Design Lab. She wanted to start a brand of her own, Jellypop. They also wanted to utilize more efficient software to help the whole supply chain and development process. EDL today is a multimillion-dollar tech-focused company that manages the entire supply chain of shoe manufacturing, from design all the way to production, using their software StyleManager and Segovia which is built in house. Today their software helps other companies. EDL only works with safe and ethical factories and is known as a design house that manufactures and distributes women, kids, and toddler shoes throughout the US and Canada. They create footwear for big box retailers (JCPenney, Famous Footwear, Shoe Carnival, Nordstrom Rack), focusing on creating comfortable, stylish, and affordable shoes for women and girls of all ages.Because of her humble beginnings, Jennet is passionate about education and empowering women and youth. She acts on her passion through mentoring others, working to increase diversity in different industries, and giving back to the community.
