I manage the website for UCL Office of the Vice Provost Education and Student Affairs at UCL, including content generation.I have also completed various copy writing contracts and am currently reviewing the website of a Faculty at the University of Toronto to offer recommendations for development.I wrote many of the Technology and Justice & Equality stories for the UCL Minds/Made at UCL campaign: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/made-at-ucl/all-stories

In this short-term contract, I helped the Institute develop communications strategies and plans to support their 3 year funding from the Mellon Foundation.

I worked in the Office of the Vice Provost Education and Student Affairs, planning and executing internal communications that illustrated success stories and progress related to the Education strategy at UCL.I joined as a communications manager and was promoted within 6 months.I created and managed all our digital communications including:- content creation and management of the Teaching and Learning Portal www.ucl.ac.uk/teaching-learning- senior editorial support to other websites that sit within the Vice Provost Office remit, including migration of all sites into our new Content Management System (CMS)- creating videos- creating written content- managing the monthly e-newsletter- managing the Twitter account and creating content to be posted on other UCL social media channels, such as Facebook and Instagram- measuring and reporting on engagement and managing agency relationships associated with that- creating postcards, flyers and posters to help raise awareness of campaigns with staff and students

My goals were to break down departmental barriers and share good practice and knowledge across the university in terms of delivering short courses through internal communications strategies.I supported and educated staff on marketing strategies and plans for their short courses through one-on-one coaching, delivering workshops and providing guides and resources.I raised the profile of UCL as a provider of short courses and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and getting UCL recognised as a valuable supplier of these services by promoting the UCL short courses website.

I provided marketing and business development services to various groups within the disputes division of a large global law firm (around 2,500 lawyers).Throughout my career at the firm, I supported a variety of practice areas including Financial Services Regulation, General Commercial Litigation, Admin & Public Law, Energy Disputes, Banking Disputes, Corporate Crime, Contentious Insurance and Intellectual Property.Key areas of responsibility included:Campaign and project planning and managementOther business development support including: client targeting and business planning (including financial analysis in conjunction with strategic accounts), analysis and research of competitors, sectors and clients, internal promotion and cross-selling, domestic and global pitches. InterAction (CRM) super user to support client targeting activity.Acting as liaison between internal clients and various marketing support teams including digital, design, client database managers, events and PR.Working with the digital team to increase and improve the firms’ use of social media and other digital marketing channels. Management of an administration assistant (2011 – 2012).Key achievements (examples):Organisation and driving of the joint campaign between Herbert Smith Freehills and the London School of Economics – a thought leadership campaign running over several years related to financial regulatory change. We were cited in the House of Lords debate and the campaign generated engagement from key senior figures in politics, academia and industry.Setting up a campaign in Herbert Smith Freehills to demonstrate our global IT disputes capability. This involved many obstacles including engaging partners across different disciplines, in different jurisdictions and having to upward influence the direction of the campaign.

Marketing and BD support to Banking Litigation, Financial Services Regulation, Administration & Public Law, Corporate Crime and Energy Disputes. (previously supported Intellectual Property and Insurance Litigation)

Providing marketing and administrative support to the Human Resource Services (HRS) marketing team (5 people) and the wider Business Development team.Included a 6 month secondment as personal assistant to the HRS Global Leader.Key responsibilities:Project management of internal poster campaigns, event stand productions and reference library.Management of HRS Marketing’s online presence including updating client-facing UK website and various internal intranet sites. Managing content, updates and distributing information.Management of event materials (including invitations) and assistance at events.Ownership of client publication distribution management – liaison with the publications team and warehouse and ensure all publications are distributed correctly and efficiently. Also dealing with all ad hoc enquiries and orders.Preparation of reports and presentations, including proofing of branding.Responsible for all CRM activity including management of contacts, campaigns and subscriptions.Key achievements:Single-handedly organising a social event at the Royal Courts of Justice for over 800 staff at PwC.Identifying a need for and securing budget to create and run a bank of event materials and stands for the use of the wider UK marketing team.
