Before the birth of my daughter I worked with individuals with Autism and Asperger's Syndrome for 16 years. My experience taught me the importance of working together, be that with your own team, other professionals, the individual you are supporting, or parents and carers. I also developed a firm belief in the importance of a society that is accepting of differences and that supports everyone to achieve their aims I am a firm believer that with a relaxed positive attitude and an open mind we can all achieve what we set out to.I gained experience and level one qualification as a swimming teacher and had planned to progress this career before the birth of my son and the beginning of the pandemic. Following this I volunteered with giggle n grow and progressed to a part time contract with giggle n grow as a session facilitator. I aim to continue to apply my experience of working within the charity sector, working within the community and working with children and families in my current position. I hope to continue to learn and develop and am in the process of completing a further autism qualification to update my current knowledge.
