Managing the auction department while working toward achieving Chartered status with RICS

Managing the running of the auction department over East and West Sussex for our two offices based in Brighton and Chichester.

Acquiring and providing market appraisals for properties mainly for sale by public auction. I deal with many different property types for sale by auction as well as those outside of auction via private treaty such as Houses of Multiple Occupation, development sites/land (with or without planning) and garages. As part of the team that runs a Sussex based auction house I am involved in all aspects of processing and marketing properties for sale from gaining instructions to assessing legal packs. Auctions means more involvement with the legal aspects of property than other areas of real estate as auction allows us to form a legally binding contract with bidders and has really developed my experience and understanding of the conveyancing process. I have completed a two year Diploma in Surveying Practice and also a BSc (Hons) in Estate Management. I am now in the process of completing the APC in order to achieve Chartered status with RICS.
