Ten years ago, I shifted to the realm of working from home. With customer service as my primary focus, I longed for a role where I could seek professional growth while putting to use my inherent need to help others. Virtual Assistance opened many doors; my confidence and belief in myself grew, setting the stage for me to perform skills I was unaware were useful. Who knew my polite, yet stern phone demeanor could translate into relentless negotiating with major cable companies ultimately helping families save money on their future bills? I never knew my instinct to follow personal guidelines for proper grammar and spelling would assist me in being a clear communicator for myself and others via email correspondence. I hadn’t yet known that I could self-motivate, maintain discipline, and manage my time effectively without supervision, but it all fell into place. Now I'm striving for exponential growth, keeping my goals away from fixed figures and instead coloring outside of the lines to better suit my spongelike ability to learn. I am confident in my capabilities and eager to watch them expand. My thirst for knowledge plays a pivotal role in this industry, as endless as the internet is, and the new programs popping up as new challenges to master keep me excited from day to day. I don't see myself doing anything other than supporting people in their times of need - whether a top-tier executive who needs his inbox decluttered or a stay-at-home mom who needs help setting up her wireless router.
