I have nearly 10 years of experience as a founding member of an interdisciplinary clinic committed to providing cutting edge services to clients with traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, chronic pain, sleep problems, and other disabilities as a result of their military service. My individual and group work with clients focuses on developing bulletproof self-care and self-regulation skills which are solidly integrated into their daily routines for maximum utility and sustainability after discharge. I set my clients up for success by using what we know about neuroscience, psychology, behavior, and their individual strengths, quirks, and interests to make a plan they can stick to in order to make a difference for them and move their lives forward. Change isn't linear or predictable, and standing for clients as they work out their own best path is essential for them to feel supported and be held accountable.I am known for my ability to explain anything to anybody – making complex concepts accessible to everyone – and for creating harmony between myself and others as the go-to conflict-resolver of the clinic. My personal interests in plants/gardening, crafting, and nutrition among other things has led to ongoing expansion of my occupational therapy practice into these areas, which has created alternate avenues to wellness for clients whose rehabilitation follows an atypical trajectory or timeline.I am a licensed occupational therapist in the state of Maryland and have been certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) since 2010. I completed the Accomplishment Coaching Coaches’ Training Program, and other continuing education has included seminars from Institute for Brain Potential, Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC), and American Occupational Therapy Association.I’m a native of the DC metro area and currently make my home in Alexandria, VA.
