As Chief Officer/Parish Clerk at Stone Parish Council, I have led an amazing team for over 16 years to improve the quality of life for a community of 13,500 people. I am responsible for the council's strategic operations and performance, ensuring compliance with legal and statutory provisions, and managing the council's financial affairs.I am passionate about improving places, public services and engaging communities through innovative and effective use of digital and communications. I have also supported innovation in the sector through facilitating workshops, delivering presentations, and writing articles for national and regional conferences and magazines. My council won a national Digital Council of the Year award in 2015, and I was appointed as a Digital Envoy in 2016 to promote the opportunities that digital can create for Kent. I am a Neighbourhood Plan Director and helped lead the preparation and production of a Neighbourhood Development Plan for the parish area that achieved support of 90% of electors at referendum. The council was accredited with Quality Gold Status in January 2022, one of only five councils in Kent to hold this award and testament to our high standard of governance and operations.I am fascinated by understanding what makes people and society thrive, and am a big advocate for health and wellbeing, both in the community and the workplace. I completed a Diploma in Performance Management and NLP in 2021 to enhance my skills and knowledge in coaching-led strategic performance and people management. I am a designer at heart and take inspiration from books, travel, history, philosophy, and art.
