First Base Level winner since 2013 who became a Branch Finalist. 2024 Recipient of the AFI Marily Considine Pursue Scholarship, a generous grant that I was able to utilize to further my self-development through concrete and transferable skills that I will use to further help the community I am part of.

Facilitated classes across various digital media platforms (Discord, Flip, UPOU Portal, Metaverse) for 200 students in 10 countries.- Improved student engagement by 30% through a timely feedback and support system, creating a more inclusive and successful learning environment. - Strengthened global competencies and intercultural ties for 400 students with the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) project with universities around the globe.- Advocated on student-centered learning through course materials preparation, classroom management, and discussion facilitation.

In July 2022, I was so excited to start a new chapter in my life as I have just completed my PhD degree. However, life gives you some gifts and some plans had to be put on pause. My then-boyfriend became my husband and unlike most people with a foreign-born spouse (alien relative is the USCIS term), we had a longer route, in terms of paperwork that we had to deal with. Nonetheless, I decided to use this time to volunteer in my capacity as a military spouse and use it to help others in and outside the community of Minot AFB. In 2023, I have devoted almost 400 hours volunteering on base sharing my knowledge, skills, and experience with both educational and military programs. My heart has a special place though for military spouses, especially in mental health and wellness. I am a founding member of the Minot AFB Spouse Resilience Team. My SRT work enabled me to be a vital member of the Integrated Suicide Prevention Team. I was also a Key Spouse and continue to share information and resources with the community. Outside the base, I have also been an advocate of foreign-born military spouses and continue to do so as I would want each member to be as empowered as their service member spouses.

Coordinates with the Grant Writing and Project Development teams in finding fund resources and securing grant funding for the various activities of Yokosuka Council on Asia-Pacific Studies (YCAPS). Initiated a letter of interest for a grant application and continued to provide support as needed.

I generated the 2023 grant application pipeline and tracker depending on amount, quarter, and organization by executing aggressive research and appropriate grant-writing strategies and techniques to secure 100,000 USD by the end of the fiscal year.

Facilitated the English language teaching and Filipino culture class to future Japanese instructors in the Philippines.

Assisted Professors/Instructors of various courses in preparing the course materials, managing the class, and facilitating discussion, if needed. Streamlined a system for easier and faster communication and connection between the students and the teaching team which resulted in clearer understanding of classroom tasks and course requirements.
