As a researcher, writer, and editor, I creatively and critically tackle complex issues—whether it’s understanding stakeholder dynamics around water reservoir management or evaluating an innovation grant. My expertise particularly lies in communications, social science research, public health policy, and water and sanitation. I have experiences and training in public health, anthropology, writing, and editing, and I use different fields’ approaches and lenses to figure out what the best way to tackle an issue is. Do we need to run a class or a workshop to listen to stakeholders? Should we apply statistical analyses to broad data sets to get a complete picture? Is understanding the 19th century history of a city going to give the team the background to formulate 21st century solutions? Does your written report or book just need a good, clean edit or a thematic workshop? Do we need to workshop the policy your advocacy group is proposing to a legislator?
