- Experienced curator and communicator- Interested in collaborating on stories about people’s experiences and understanding of money. ….Money is a subject that touches us all in some way. Talking about money can be a way in to stories across many disciplines and experiences - economics, political history, social history, art, design, science, engineering and more. I curate and interpret the numismatic, art and social history collections through both exhibitions and digital content. This is not just about paper money/banknotes but includes the full range of the Bank of England's history and collections. The Future of Money, our current exhibition, explores how money and payments have changed dramatically in the last couple of decades, and what that means for our future. That's not just in how we pay, but the impact of different forms of money in culture, how we understand finances, and their impact on the environment. Also at the Bank of England Museum, we have Pardner Hand: A Caribbean answer to British banking exclusion. This is an exhibition in collaboration with Museumand, the National Caribbean Heritage Museum. It explores a way of saving that was popularised in Britain by the Windrush Generation, and highlights Caribbean entrepreneurship in the face of financial discrimination. Our previous exhibition, Slavery & the Bank, examined the connections between the Bank of England (and the City of London) and transatlantic slavery, and how the wealth created by slavery helped shape the development of Britain. The exhibition's resources can be seen on our website, and elements have now been incorporated into our permanent displays. We continue to collaborate with others to explore this topic and its legacies.
