Dr. Stuart currently serves as the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at UNC Charlotte. In this role, she provides strategic leadership and oversight across marketing and branding, internal communications, media relations, creative services, digital communications (including web, social media, and multimedia content creation), executive communications, and crisis communications. She also leads content marketing strategies that enhance the university's brand and support the individual colleges, driving engagement with key audiences across various platforms.Dr. Stuart joined UNC Charlotte in 2013 as an Assistant Professor of Marketing in the Belk College of Business, where she taught courses in the DBA, MBA, and undergraduate business programs. Her research has been published in prestigious journals like the Journal of Marketing Research, the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and Marketing Letters. Notably, her paper, Valuing Customers, earned both the William O’Dell Award and the Paul E. Green Award, recognizing research that has made significant, long-term contributions to marketing theory and practice. More recently, she served as Associate Dean for Graduate and Executive Programs for the Belk College of Business.With extensive industry experience, Dr. Stuart has held senior leadership positions in brand management, strategy and innovation, and general management at companies such as Bayer, Novartis, and Hershey. She is currently on the Board of Advisors for WFAE, Charlotte's local NPR station, and has held prior board roles in the for-profit sector with Wikoff Color and Aquanomix. Dr. Stuart holds a master's and doctoral degrees from Columbia University and master's and undergraduate degrees from the University of Pittsburgh.
