As PTSA President, my main responsibility was to oversee the Executive Board and to provide guidance and support when needed. I am proud to say, our Board has accomplished our goals of providing our signature services and activities that we budgeted for. I also worked together with the faculty to promote Reflections to increase entries from 8 to 67 this past year. I would lead monthly Board meetings and quarterly Association meetings for our members. I would communicate via President's Messages to keep parents updated with PTSA news. Our Board consists of officers, chairpersons, and parent volunteers to run programs/events such as Adventures in Art, Fundraisers, Membership Drives, Honorary Service Awards, Scholarship Awards, Staff Appreciation Week, and ending the school year with 8th Grade Promotion activities.

Madrona Middle School

This position is a volunteer position with the Madrona Middle School PTSA. I was the Chairperson for the Nominating Committee. This committee is responsible to find qualified candidates for the officer positions for the next school year’s Board. The role of the Parliamentarian is to ensure the actions of the Board are in compliance with the current by-laws. In addition, the by-laws should be reviewed and updated on a timely manner.

Hickory Elementary

I was elected to be Hickory PTA President for 2015-16 SY. The role of PTA President covered a wide range of activities that required one to be a leader, team player, organizer, communicator, scheduler, fundraiser, writer, money handler. I lead a team of elected officers and chairpersons to offer PTA sponsored events and programs at Hickory Elementary throughout the school year. Hickory Elementary consisted of about 935 students so raising funds, keeping to a budget and increasing volunteer participation was key to a successful year. One of my goals was to improve communication between parents, students, faculty to increase awareness of the Hickory PTA's activities. I achieved this goal by using the weekly Online Communicator to announce monies raised, include flyers on upcoming events, and wrote monthly letters to Hickory's parents and students. I am proud of what my team did for Hickory during my term.

I was the Chairperson for the PTA run library at Hickory Elementary for 2 school years. I oversaw the running of Hickory Library. I organized volunteers to cover weekly library classes for about 34 teachers which included about 935 students coming to the library throughout the week. During my last term, I continued to run the Hickory Library while taking on the responsibility of being PTA President. I also was Co-Chairperson for the week long Scholastic Book Fair held in the Hickory Library. It was a successful fundraiser for Hickory PTA judging from the happy faces and book purchases from the parents and students. One of my achievements during my two terms was the 100% collection of outstanding library books before the end of the school years.

I was elected to be Ikego PTO Treasurer for the 2013-14 school year. I processed financial transactions and deposited funds to the PTO bank account. I maintained financial reports and presented monthly Treasurer reports to the PTO Board. I worked closely with the PTO President to organize fundraisers to raise funds for the PTO's events and expenses for the school year.

I was elected Treasurer for the Command 7th Fleet Spouses Association while my family was stationed at Yokosuka Base. I processed financial transactions and deposited funds to the C7FSA bank account. I maintained financial reports and presented monthly Treasurer reports to the membership. I was also acting as Welcome Chairperson and greeted new Command 7th Fleet Officer families to Yokosuka Base. I would correspond with the family prior to arriving in Japan to help them answer any questions they had. I would prepare a booklet of helpful information to help the families get more comfortable with the area and present the spouse with a welcome gift on behalf of the C7F Spouse Association.
