Design ConsultantIntern Architect Jennifer is a registered Intern Architect with Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) and a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC). She received a Bachelor of Architectural Studies Degree with honors, after completing a four year accredited Bachelor program at Carleton University in 2006. In 2010 she completed her professional Masters of Architecture degree at the University of Toronto. During her post-secondary studies, Jennifer’s designs focused primarily on movement and its relationship to space and architecture. It is her belief that architecture should be playful in the sense that it allows for constant enjoyable interaction. For Jennifer, whether she is designing a large public building or small private residence, how the occupant will interact with the architecture is always her number one priority and the driving factor in her designs. Born in Malta, but raised in the GTA for much of her life, Jennifer felt the need to examine her roots more closely when she chose to site her Architectural Thesis Project in a small industrial city in Malta. Preparation for her thesis involved a summer abroad in Europe, where she was able to experience firsthand European culture and architecture, something she feels has been invaluable to her design career. Prior to this position, Jennifer worked as student architect at Arcos Incorporated, a small scale firm north of Toronto. Being one of only four designers at the firm, Jennifer was provided with the opportunity to take on a substantial amount of design work and as a result acquired extensive knowledge in the technical design requirements of a building.
