I am honoured to be a part of the lecturing team for the 4th year Graphic Design degree students at Napier. In really tough conditions for the students, I am aiming to deliver an up-beat module through talks and projects that helps get them ready for hire. Working on short and fast contracts with local agencies, providing creative ideas and art direction. It was great to play a part in some fun projects and provide support for industry colleagues.

Leading a multi-talented creative team in this fast-paced agency was hugely rewarding. I helped to push the quality of work on a daily basis, nurturing ideas and ensuring work had a clear message. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the team develop and brought in new talent, helping to build up our agency offering. I raised the profile of the creative department across the agency, strengthening relationships between creative and client facing colleagues. Attending senior client meetings, pitches up and down the country and overseeing as much outputs as possible. I worked hard to balance a Maker/Manager role, being hands on, and a supporter. Winning a record amount of national pitches in the process.

I work in the Edinburgh office of this global agency across every client, which includes Historic Scotland, HPE, ScottishPower, and Virgin Media. As the Senior Creative, I represent the department in company meetings and pitches. And regularly oversee and co-ordinate projects from my sketchpad to final edit and publish. Together with our London based planning and strategy teams, we find insights to help form ideas that are engaging but also effective. Recently the focus has been around driving social engagement and building warmth towards brands. We’ve produced video based content ideas on tiny budgets, and larger scale productions involving digital teams. Often exceeding clients’ targets and helping with client growth.What drives me each day is the need to make sure every piece of work has a strong idea that can carry a campaign across multiple platforms. And I ensure I build the right team to bring my ideas to life in the best possible way, on budget and on time.

Having unfortunately been made redundant I was out of work for a full 5mins before the girls from LS pulled me into their offices next door. They knew from having worked together on my own shoots, that I am a rare mix of creative and organised. So I was a natural fit when they needed some help with location casting and production for a few months.
