I have an extremely unique set of work experiences and a passion for sharing my experience with both students and professionals. I have enjoyed a progressively responsible engineering career in manufacturing beginning as a co-op student in 1992 until I transitioned into education in 2008. Since 2014, I have developed the Engineering and Robotics program in the Calhoun County School District and participated as the engineering liaison on the College and Career Readiness Mathematics and Science standard writing teams as well as the Mississippi Career and Technical Education Engineering curriculum steering committee and writing teams. I am experienced in all aspects of industrial engineering including lean manufacturing and leading Kaizen teams, 3D modeling, CNC machining, managing design teams, and leading quality control. I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, MS in Secondary Mathematics Education and am currently pursuing my Ed.S. degree in Educational Leadership. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher. I have facilitated numerous professional development seminars in STEM education. I am also passionate about promoting non-traditional pathways for students who otherwise would not be exposed to STEM careers. I have established the Mississippi Engineering Teachers Association and work with all of the Mississippi CTE Engineering teachers to ensure we are facilitating the development of our future workforce. I have worked with major manufacturers such as Nissan, Weyerhaeuser, Caterpillar, Toyota, and Winchester to generate career opportunities for our engineering students. I have also worked with Community Colleges and IHL across the state to ensure we are feeding their program needs. I am extremely passionate about my love for engineering and I am dedicated to ensuring Mississippi is at the forefront of STEM education so industries will continue to look to Mississippi as their new home.
