Delegated and ensured task completion among a unionized staff of 8-12 employees at a harm reduction shelter site. Debriefed and instructed staff on how to appropriately handle medical emergencies, mental health crisis, and navigated violent altercations. Oversaw inventory of harm reduction supplies, cleaning supplies and hygiene supplies for a permanent respite of approximately 125 beds, and for warming centre program (additional 50 beds). Provided informal counseling, deescalated clients in emotional distress/crisis, set appropriate boundaries. Conducted facility checks, bed checks, and health checks for high-risk intravenous drug users. Administered naloxone and performed CPR and First Aid when needed and and learned to utilize an AED kit.

Handled high call volumes of individuals in crisis or severe emotional distress. Supervised and mentored new volunteers on the phone lines. Facilitated in providing a safe space for vulnerable and at-risk individuals. Served as a point of access for self-harm or suicide prevention and intervention.
