Description of Responsibilities: • Responsible for New Business Production. This includes broker visits, underwriting, quoting and inspecting potential new accounts • Contributed to the achievement of projected premium objectives for all brokers by monitoring and controlling quality of business underwritten• Accept or reject any application submitted by brokers• Ascertain a course of action to make an unacceptable risk acceptable if possible• Determine equitable and competitive rating and if risk credits are justified• Negotiate terms and pricing in accordance with the companies underwriting guidelines• Inspect risks personally, when possible• Build sound portfolio and participate in weekly accountability reports• Participate in insurance industry functions and marketing events• Keeping informed about community conditions, applicable regulations and competitor activity.Skills and Abilities:• Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills• Strong negotiation skills• Adaptable to change and able to generate creative solutions• Excellent communication skills and team player• Proficient with various software applications • Problem solver and able to quickly grasp complex systems • Excellent research and writing skills • Fluent in both English and FrenchVisit our website at: www.avivacanada.com and our Global website at www.aviva.com
