I have a passion for solving complex problems with innovative solutions identified through the intersection of research, evaluation, and inclusive engagement. I was the engagement specialist, co-researcher, and co-author for the Building Poverty Solutions report, Halifax Regional Municipality’s first ever poverty reduction strategy. The process I designed engaged 1,100 individuals in 3 months, 40 percent who identified as having lived/living experience of poverty.Throughout my career I have created strong relationships with all levels of government, community partners, and the private sector to co-develop innovative solutions to complex issues. To date I have supported the development of 3 cross sector strategic partnerships to identify common agendas, shared goals, and evaluation frameworks to create affordable housing and end homelessness, build healthy communities, and reduce poverty. In my current role as Policy Advisor, Physician Wellness, I oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of Doctor Nova Scotia's physician wellness and leadership initiatives. I also perform policy analysis, research and stakeholder engagement to identify trends, emerging issues, and to proactively identify opportunities for DNS engagement. My professional experience is underpinned by a Master of Arts in International Development Studies from Saint Mary's University. I am trained in the best practices for strong project management of complex tasks with a focus on strategic vision, operational efficiency, and open approaches.
