I recently graduated from San Diego State University (SDSU) with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. I am now working as a Research Scientist there, in the very lab where I conducted my capstone research. It is very rewarding to see a project through, I worked very hard my senior year to produce great research and I am so grateful to continue my project until it is complete. My research is on the effect of plasmonics on hexagonal Boron Nitride, an anisotropic 2-dimensional material. I was able to demonstrate my background in physics at my internship with Universal Display Corporation (UDC). I worked with an amazing team in a class 10000 clean room, I started two of my own projects, came to some fascinating conclusions, and presented my findings to my colleagues and superiors. I was introduced to plasmonics inspiring me to continue learning about it when I returned to SDSU.As a research scientist at SDSU, I continue to demonstrate my skills developed in university and during my internship at UDC. I can explore new methods and applications of plasmonics using entirely different materials.
