Perform all aspects of full-cycle City-wide recruitment including: sourcing, posting, marketing, screening, interviewing, selecting, validating reference checks, drafting offer letters, on-boarding activities in support of programs, services and operations and candidate debriefs. Provides guidance and consultation to all levels of management on wide range of recruitment issues in direct support of the Ontario Works and Planning & Economic Development departments, as well as community outreach initiatives as the dedicated Student Recruiter.

Manage all Workplace Safety and Insurance Board claims for the City, ensuring all regulatory obligations are maintained. Responsibilities include reporting claims within the legislated timeframes, maintaining confidential files, preparing or assisting with claims analysis, statistics & reports and objections/appeals up to the WSIAT level, processing WSIB absence reports and bridging benefits for eligible employees.

Recorded, verified and processed all employee sick absenses in compliance with all policies, procedures and collective agreements, and in respect of established deadlines. Inputting of employee absences and administrative support for all aspects of the disability management program including WSIB, STD/LTD claims and Attendance Support and Management Program (ASMP).

Ongoing management of disability portfolios including; investigating incident reports, tracking and building of workplace injury/illness statistics and reports, entering absences & legislated leaves into Attendance Management System.

Provided guidance and support in the disability management process by creating modified employment opportunities for employees on medically supported leave of absences to ensure safe return-to-work practices. Liaise with external disability management service providers regarding absence claims and accommodation requests.

Sole recruiter for workforce of 950+ employees in multi-union environments; responsible for maintaining hiring costs while meeting legislative requirements and effectively utilizing HR Metrics. Full-cycle recruitment consisting of; posting, pre-screening, designing and conducting interview and employment testing, data verification, offer packages as well as facilitating new hire orientation.
