Brought core features across the stack from conception to production in the mobile app "KAYA" (iOS/Android) and accompanying web CMS. KAYA connects the rock climbing community and provides a digital space for social video sharing, route finding and mapping, and athletic performance tracking.

Lead software engineer developing a web-based user interface for the Python-based bioenergy modeling software: BioSTEAM. BioSTEAM is an open source process simulation software for fast and flexible preliminary technoeconomic analysis of biorefineries. The application utilizes VueJS and AWS Lambda to achieve a modern and scalable computational UI.

My research in the area of environmental biotechnology is focused on utilizing microalgae for both nutrient recovery from waste water and biofuel production from cultivated biomass. By combining computer modeling, laboratory techniques, and bioinformatics I aim to investigate the potential for microalgae to play a key role in the energy-water nexus. My undergraduate research focused on the effect of selective environmental pressures on microbial structure and function. In the process of developing this project I gained valuable laboratory techniques, designed protocols and experiments, and was responsible for the design and manufacturing of photobioreactors still in operation.
