•Coordinate muli-year federal grants and cooperative agreements. Assure project goals and objectives are met; track and approve budgets and expenditures; coordinate PI conference calls and in-person meetings; and, work with individual PIs to apply for additional federal or state grants that align with the SECOORA Strategic Plan.•Submit environmental compliance documentation to NOAA for SECOORA field activities for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review. •Mange the SECOORA data management contractor. Work with the contractor to prioritize tasks for monthly development activities. Identify improvements for the SECOORA data portal to provide a better user experience. Identify archived data sets from within the SECOORA domain from academic programs and state and federal agencies for inclusion in the portal.•Assure quality control for real time data (QARTOD) data flagging requirements are implemented by PIs who operate real time oceanographic sensors. Working with Second Creek Consulting to develop an interactive quality control interface that provides daily QARTOD flag reviews for water level data.•Lead proposal writing teams in order to leverage the work conducted in the SECOORA 5-year Cooperative Agreement and expand ocean observing in the 4-state region.• Developed the 2026 – 2030 SECOORA Regional Coastal Ocean Observing System Strategic Operational Plan based on stakeholder-identified needs in the four-state region. • Participate on the SECOORA Annual Members meeting planning team and Board of Director meetings. • Represent SECOORA at national and state workshops and symposia. • Work with NOAA line offices to coordinate ocean observing activities and build project teams for grant proposals.

Lead concurrent multi-year, multi-institutional grant funded projects, resulting in over $5,300,000 in extramural funding. Plan, coordinate, implement, monitor and evaluate each project to assure that it is on track for completion within the funding timeframe. Example projects include: Program Manager for the National Atmospheric and Oceanographic Administration (NOAA) funded Coastal Ocean Research and Monitoring Program (CORMP). Collaborative effort between state universities, federal agencies, and private partners. CORMP operates and maintains real-time weather and oceanographic moorings in coastal waters offshore of North Carolina and South Carolina. Project Manager for the NOAA funded development of a standardized marine weather portal for the NOAA National Weather Service (NWS) offices: (http://secoora.org/data/marineweatherportal). Special Project Manager for NC Sea Grant. Projects include development of a 20 Year NC Sea Grant research portfolio; development of one-page documents highlighting NC Sea Grant research investments; and planning and executing state-wide meetings.

Led a regional information management system project team comprised of state agency managers, data management and GIS professionals, and NGO participants to develop the Governors’ South Atlantic Alliance (GSAA) Coast and Ocean Portal (https://gsaaportal.org). The Coast and Ocean Portal was built to support regionally important priority management issues: Port maintenance and expansion, beach nourishment, habitat conservation, and hazard vulnerability assessment.

Consultant for the National Science Foundation (NSF) funded Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI) Assisted with federal National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance requirements. This included assisting with the preparation of the Site-Specific Environmental Assessment, participation in public scoping meetings and public hearings, and maintaining project documentation related to NEPA compliance. Provided guidance to OOI project personnel on Federal and State permits required to deploy oceanographic mooring infrastructure in US waters. Served on source selection evaluation boards for instrument procurement.
