In September 2014, I took the plunge and opened my own private practice called Creative Therapy. I specialize in working with children and families. I also love seeing couples and adults to add variety to my practice. My passion is truly working with children. I love their strength, their honesty, and their innocent filtered view of this world. I also love working with the parents and helping them understand their child and re-connect. When they are ready to leave, it's the best feeling in the world to know that I was apart of their journey and the parents can take it from there because now they know what to do.My second specialty would be using creative mediums to help clients grow and change. So many times I have hit a wall with "talk therapy." Creative Therapy goes the extra mile to help the client learn in ways that are natural to them. For some that would be hands on or kinesthetic, visual, or auditory. For children it is usually play, their first language. I even finding myself teaching adults and parents how to play again. We all need it no matter how old we are!
